The Mission of Colton Strong Kids

Colton Strong Kids was founded on the belief that no family should face the trials of childhood cancer alone. The organization provides vital support to families grappling with the emotional and financial burdens that come with a cancer diagnosis. While taking on a battle with childhood cancer, they were inspired and felt the need to give back. As co-founder Corri Stanley shares, “We were overwhelmed with gratitude by the love and support we received from family, friends, and our community. It inspired us deeply—to give back, to do more, to make a lasting difference.” This mission resonates with us at Hoover & Wells, as we believe in the power of community and compassion. Through their efforts, Colton Strong Kids offers financial relief, helps families cover essential expenses, and offers support, hope, and comfort to families throughout their active treatment for childhood cancer. Their work ensures that families can focus on what truly matters—caring for their children and cherishing every moment together.

Santa’s Helpers 2024: Spreading Holiday Cheer

This holiday season, we are excited to support Santa’s Helpers 2024, an initiative aimed at bringing holiday cheer to children at the Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital. Our goal is simple yet powerful: to ensure that every child in the unit receives the most wished-for item on their Christmas list. This initiative not only eases the financial burden on families but also allows them to focus on love, laughter, and togetherness during this special time of year.

Upcoming Events: Join Us in Making a Difference

Looking ahead, we have exciting events planned to further support these brave families:

Blood Drive on March 25th, 2025 

• Children battling pediatric cancer often need regular blood transfusions. Donating blood is a powerful way to help, and we encourage everyone to participate and spread the word. Corri emphasizes the importance of this drive, stating, “One of the biggest ways that people can donate without having to donate a penny is giving blood.” Each donation can be a lifeline for these children, providing them with the strength they need to continue their fight.

Base Hits for Colton (May 30th - June 1st, 2025) 

• Join us for a fun-filled fundraiser where all the money raised goes directly to Colton Strong Kids. Boys and girls ages 5-13 can register to participate in the home run derby. On Saturday and Sunday, there is a baseball tournament open to teams 8under - 13under. We will have sponsorship opportunities available for the event soon, and we currently already have 13 teams registered for the 2025 tournament! Plus, we will be collecting raffle/silent auction items for the event! Stay tuned!

The Impact of Community Support

At Hoover & Wells, we believe that community support is vital in making a difference. The stories we’ve heard from families helped by Colton Strong Kids have touched our hearts, and we felt compelled to step up in a big way to help make more stories of joy and resilience possible. As we embark on this journey together, we are reminded of the incredible strength and resilience of these young warriors and their families. Corri beautifully states, “If you need a dose of inspiration, spend a day in our unit because there’s no way you could be around these little fighters and not be inspired.” Their courage in the face of adversity is a powerful reminder of what it means to cherish life and the moments we have with our loved ones.

What's Colton up to?

Colton will be in active treatment until November of 2025. Thankfully he is in remission and his treatment is working!

Plus, earlier this year, Colton and his family were deeply honored to be recognized at ProMedica’s Philanthropy Recognition Dinner, where Colton received the title of Junior Philanthropist of the Year. The recognition celebrated the family’s dedication to supporting families facing childhood cancer.

Sharing the stage with other award recipients, they spoke about Colton’s well-deserved recognition, the special role of his brother Connor, and the inspiration they've drawn from the courageous families they’ve met along their journey. They also extended heartfelt thanks to their family and friends and praised the remarkable pediatric hematology/oncology team.

This unforgettable night strengthened their commitment to giving back to families who need it most.
